XXL Handmade North African Geometric Rug

£0.00

A very large and unique handmade wool rug from the 1970s, sporting a multicoloured geometric design. It would look amazing in many interiors, either modern or vintage. Second image is for size comparison.

This specific rug comes from the rebellious region of the Kabylia mountains, North Algeria, where locals still speak the Berber Amazigh language. The wool yarns are from ethically grown livestock of locals who dyed and treated with traditional and organic methods, hence the high finishing quality. All rugs should be washed in cold water and dried flat to avoid discolouration.

This type of massive rugs are called ‘Hanbel’, and were used to cover many members of the family at once when they used to sleep during the cold desert winters.
